Is there any difference between the larger and smaller cons (when it comes to being boring)?

Not in my experience. I've gone to a big one that was a lot of fun, and one that was pretty dull. And I'm gone to a small one that's a lot of fun, and a small one that was awful. It's kind of a mixed bag, I guess.

But I have learned lessons from going to ones that I disliked. Now, if I'm going to a con I haven't been to before, I talk to other people who have been and see what their experiences have been like, and I make sure to check the program before I buy a ticket.
