Re: Cat in heat, can't get spayed yet

The reason we couldn't get her fixed when we first brought her in was not because we didn't realize it or because we didn't have the money, and I really don't like the suggestion that that must be why. She had a problem with her liver and we could not spay her until that was taken care of (according to the vet, it could have killed her).

We didn't have any of those problems, but I'm glad you posted the information for the benefit of the anon and others.

It's lucky you didn't, and it's good that it's not going to be a concern in the future.

I'm not really of the mind that you're "raping" the cat, btw, it's just really not something people should try because there's a very very high risk of injuring a cat if you try to do that.
