Recs please? I'm starting to get back into anime, and that sounds like the kind of thing I'd be interested in.

da but here's some recs :

Dennou Coil : SF show in which internet has been developped into glasses and kids use them to play with augmented reality. A bunch of girls hackers investigate urban legends related to the glasses. (26 episodes)

Gatchaman Crowds : A short super-hero serie (12 episodes) with some mysterious alien and a thematic of social media and the new generation.
I suggest to try watching a little more if the first episode doesn't grab you because I found it messy and the heroine seemed to be really grating when she's actually quite well written after that.
It should be on Crunchyroll.

Chihayafuru : the gorgeous adaptation of a josei manga about a traditional japanese card game that uses poetry. The main character is a teenager who dreams of becoming the best female player in Japan and is really passionate about the game. There's two seasons of 26 episodes.

Kyousougiga : The story of a magical family that lived in a "mirror town" hidden from the rest of the world. The main character is the youngest daughter who tries to put the family back together.
There's 10 episodes, it's on Crunchyroll.

Puella Magi Madoka Magica : It's been quite overhyped but I think it's still rather enjoyable, plus it's short (13 episodes). A magical girl show with a ~dark~ twist. It has pretty nice art direction in some aspects and great music.

I also recommend the animated movies "Letter to Momo" and "The Tale of Princess Kaguya", both have really nice mother/daughter relationships.

Thanks for telling me Crowds gets better, and that the heroine gets better. I usually give things about three eps to bait me in, but that first episode was just awful for me it kind of discourage me from giving it a chance. Will do now!
