To be fair, OP, Attack on Titan is a cultural mashup that's heavily influenced by what appears to be 17th century continental Europe, especially France and Germany. You've got names like Armin Arlert, Eren Jaeger, Jean Kirstein, Mikasa Ackerman (Her last name is either Anglo-Saxon or German in origin), Reiner Braun, Annie Leonhardt, Marco Bott, and on and on you go.

There isn't so much racebending as just lack of anything to racebend with, considering "white" is the default.
