kinda weird. I am fairly prolific in fandom and actually ended up with my real name (first only, but it is a somewhat unusual name) attached tangentially to my fandom, and it hasn't ever come up on my numerous background checks.

As I said, it may depend on the company doing the checks. Or maybe the field? It was for a position where appearances and online presence were important, so maybe that's why they dug that up. I didn't get into any kind of trouble over it, though.
