I went through a preliminary security check for a similar job (unfortunately was unsuccessful, though whether it was because of security reasons or my suitability for the job is unknown). Thankfully my background checking officer knew what fanfiction was because her daughter loved it so I didn't have to explain and she didn't think it was weird! Whew. I did have to explain where my very strange pseudonym came from though.

Actually... given the timing right now of this secret, I almost want to say I know what job you're in the hiring process for, and congratulations on getting to the intense security check!
