Hiccup had the same thing. It seems like at some point they decided to drop the adult woman = boy thing and just use adult men.

He does? His voice cracks all the time. Mabel's voice sounds older to me, personally. I hated her voice at first, but I got used to it. Same with Dipper.

I feel the same, although I did get used to it.

Now I remember watching How To Train Your Dragon, and I couldn't get over Hiccup's nasal ass dude man voice. Great movie, but that fucking voice. I still can't watch that movie without annoying the person next to me about how that voice is a terrible decision on a kid.

I had the same problem with Hiccup, it actually kept me away from HTTYD for a while. Also Jack Frost.

Jack Frost weirded me out a lot, and I like Chris Pine.

Yeah, for some reason Hiccup didn't bother me so much but Jack Frost just sounded like the wrong voice coming out of his body.

I wasn't expecting his voice to sound like that when I watched an episode either. It's not enough to make me swear off the show completely but it is odd.

Kristen Schaal was the harder one for me, but I think I finally got used to it because most of the other characters have vocal quirks. Alex Hirsch doesn't have a bad range of voices, though.

Just coming to say that I really want to watch this show, but I need to find away to start from the beginning and marathon it.

Also I suppose it's sorta weird but not enough for me to pay too much mind.

Sort of funny to me, because a friend of mine started hormone replacement therapy and while he was going through puberty he sounded exactly like Dipper. It was uncanny, and hilarious. He had a very good sense of humor about it.

So he sounds pretty much exactly like a guy going through puberty to me.
