Hey, no one knows your story, but it sounds like you shouldn't beat yourself up over it. Yes it's unfortunate that you couldn't be with him at the time (esp since it sounds like you wanted that very much), but dogs are loving, forgiving creatures and I bet he would understand. Death is hard enough without blaming yourself for something you can't help or change.

Anyway, I'm sorry for your loss. :( I know it's rough. Hope you'll be okay.

(there's a pretty heavy theme of "making things right", but it's really not a depressing. or maybe it is if you have something similar like OPs to identify and crave. it's more like a point-and-click adventure game and a family restaurant placemat maze had a baby. plus it's made by that ace attorney creator guy.)

Huh...so it has a more sweet or hopeful feel to it? (Or maybe just closure, idk.) I could see why OP would be upset considering their RL situation, but I imagine it's fantastic if the Ace Attorney creator made it.

don't get me wrong - i was really touched by the ending about the characters' doing on the secret. it just made me have an emotional release and just made me miss my dog even more.

I still kick myself for not being there when my little old lady dog died, and I was in the same house! She was having trouble breathing, so I got her all comfy on her bed and wandered off to do some work. I wandered back an hour later and she was gone. I hope she was comfortable and not scared or anything, and I feel terrible for being so close, but not there when she might've wanted me the most.

But I think she forgives me, and still loves me, and watches over me because every now and then the damn brat wakes me up out of a sound sleep. I swear I hear her barking to be let out so I wake up, and am halfway out of bed before I remember she's been dead for a year, and all I was hearing was the house settling. Damnit dog, just let me sleep!

really late but thank you. it's funny because sometimes, i could feel something by my leg (he loved to sleep next to me) or i would hear his bark randomly. not at me but usually whenever i'm alone, i'd hear him (he tended to do that since, while he was a little dog, he was still very much my protector).

I'm sure your dog loved you and understood. I'm glad you were able to find some emotional release through Ghost Trick. The ending really took me off-balance as well and I find it truly lovely and heartwarming. Condolences on losing your beloved companion.
