Why do you feel nostalgia for something you hate?

(Anonymous) 2014-09-28 07:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Have you never felt that type of nostalgia? I think it's pretty common.

(Anonymous) 2014-09-28 07:58 pm (UTC)(link)
....no. I don't think back on a show I hated as a kid (Rocket Power) and think, "Wow. I really want to watch that show again."

ugh, that show was terrible. I'm glad I'm not the only one who didn't like it.

I like it when people have to die.

I am a morbid fuck.

I was sad about Loki at the end there, too.

And on a completely irrelevant note, Matt Damon looked really good there, but I don't find him attractive now at all.

Thank God for fanfiction.

I loved this movie as a teenager, but I agree. Loki was my favorite character and I was angry that he died at the end - I thought it was implied that he'd go to hell or whatever, because they can't go back to heaven, right? Bleh. Good movie, though.

i think he just doesn't exist anymore not even in hell :

(Anonymous) 2014-09-29 12:08 pm (UTC)(link)
That's not so bad. Better to not exist than to be tortured for eternity.

I always assumed that since Loki died trying to stop Bartleby (technically an force of evil at the time), he got a pass, and/or since God personally forgave Bartleby, She forgave Loki too by extension.

I like this headcanon, though I don't quite think they could be completely forgiven, since then the whole "God is fallible" thing would have come to pass. So not quite sure where they ended up.

maybe they could be reborn as humans?

Oh god, I suddenly just imagined one of them turning out to be the MC's baby.

And that might work. When they died as the new humans, they wouldn't really be Loki and Bartleby anymore, so that might be enough to not cause the end of the world (just go with the Obi-Wan school of thought and see things from the certain point of view of your choice!).

oh hey yeah!! that does work! YAY!

I thought you were talking about MCU Loki and was so confused for a couple minutes. Anyway, the deaths worked for me - I mean, I felt bad for Loki but it was tragic in a good way, made narrative/character sense, and morbidly hilarious that Ben Affleck killed Matt Damon - but I can see why it bothers you. I like what the above comment said about them being born as humans!
