Asshole1 and Asshole2 weren't pranksters, they were bullies. We only see them as cute pranksters because they were friends with Harry and we get his biased view of them. By any objective measure they were ginger Malfoys. I would have hated to share the same family as them, never mind same school.

Ron excepted (they were pretty hard on him but those are siblings for you--my older brother was hell on me) F&G only went after assholes.

Bullies *snickers* F&G certainly could be unpleasant but they always punched up (IOW went after bullies, not easy targets).
