I hate racebending in general, unless the writers actually take culture and ethnicity into account when they rewrite the character's entire history and make them a half-OC.

SJW that scream about race not mattering and what's wrong with a white character suddenly being black with nothing different about them can fuck right off.

What do you mean?

Sometimes we just want to be awesome space rangers and not worry about how someone will see our race.

Because saying "race makes no difference" is like saying "gender doesn't matter" and is buying into the "racism is over now gaiz, everyone is the same" bullshit from the opposite end of the SJ spectrum.

Obvs this only applies to real world or pseudo-real world settings like the one actually at hand in this thread. Space rangers and total fantasy is a different animal.

Ah, okay, I was having an off moment there.

Trust me, I HATE it when people go "the character is black now so LULZ BROKEN HOMES CRIME AND BLACK STEREOTYPES AHOY." That's flat out racist. But going "the character can be black and nothing changes but the color palette because race doesn't matter" is going too far in the opposite direction. :\

How is it even racebending when his skin color is not described in the books?

I mean yeah Rowling probably meant for him to be white, but since it isn't actually stated, it's not really racebending.
