Hairdressers

(Anonymous) 2014-09-30 11:08 pm (UTC)(link)
So, I got my hair cut into a boyish pixie the other day. I'm curious, if anyone does hair, is it JUST water that's in the little spritz bottle they use if they're just doing a cut but not a wash? Because they next day it looked AWESOME and was soft and fell and stayed in a manner that I have not been able to recreate.

Just go back to the person who cut your hair and ask. If it is in the water you'll know what to buy, and if it was just the way your stylist arranged it that did something, they're usually happy to show you how to recreate that look yourself. They don't even have to charge you, that's kind of part of the original cut. There's no point in creating a lasting style for a customer if they can't recreate it themselves.

I was out of town when I got it done.

you sure your hairdresser didn't put a drop of argan oil or another finishing product on his hands after he was done with the cut?

Nope, but I sure didn't notice anything. Never heard of or seen argan oil. What are some other things that could have been used? (It didn't really *feel* like there was anything in my hair....)

high quality finishing products when used appropriately aren't supposed to feel like anything, especially not pure argan oil. but they sure make a hell of a difference.

I know my hair dresser usually has a serum and/or conditioner mixed in with the water to make it soft.

Actually, it might just have been soft water. The difference between hard and soft water on one's hair is unbelievable. IME hair products have little to no effect whereas using soft water is basically magic.
