I mean, my skin is black. My parents' skin is black. Therefore, I am black. All this bullshit about culture determining race is bullshit. All culture determines is...your culture. And acting like each individual race is its own monolith is stupid and regressive.

I agree with you.

I don't think desi holds the same kind of "purely skin color" meaning that black does, though. Desi does have cultural connotations. The word itself literally is used to mean "traditional."

Acting like the concept of race can somehow be divided from the concept of culture is the biggest bullshit of them all.
