I had a few Pokemon fansites. I make fun of ugly tumblrs, and questionable design choices, but it's because I am a qualified critic given my experience in creating shittastic geocities pages. Dancing, bouncing gifs everywhere during a time when all that fancy noise took ages to load, purple text on black backgrounds, and yellow construction tape images everywhere so my friends and unlucky passerbys would know I had stuff in the works (I never had a time when someone wasn't under construction indefinitely).

Actual content was poorly sourced trivia about the games, show, and comics, shitting on AAML, essays about how perfect Jesse & James were, and my show fanart and terrible pokemon OCs I thought would be perfect for the games.

I barely even understand Pokemon anymore, much less keep up with the anime, so I'm still kind of surprised that I even put so much work into fanning about something I dropped relatively quickly. Fandoms I've been in for nearly a decade I haven't even put as much flail into.

"What was good about it?"
There was nothing good about it.
