That's something that affects us too. When you put race and gender up on this pedestal as insurmountable life ruiners, what do you expect the rest of us who share those things to feel like?

(Anonymous) 2014-10-01 01:58 am (UTC)(link)I can see what you're saying, but based on my experiences with depression and the way it warps obstacles that other people might not even bat an eye at, it seems to me like this place that she's in has less to do with racism and sexism and more to do with that aspect.

I could see why someone would choose the former, but I'd lean toward the latter regardless... the idea that waving it off as okay because depressed people are allowed to say things with unfortunate implications doesn't sit comfortably with me.
