Oh I agree it's implicit and I don't actually think Harry is mixed race in canon. I just don't see why it's such a big deal as fanon. There's no absolute contradiction to it!

Oh I see. Well there really kind of is a contradiction if it's implicit. That aside though, I think people just get sick of this stuff. It's very prevalent on Tumblr and the attitude that usually accompanies it is quite... obnoxious? Wrong word but can't think of the right one right now.

I don't really use Tumblr much, so I don't know about the attitudes there. But "implicit" doesn't mean "definitely so" - think of gay or bi characters who were generally thought to be straight before coming out, such as Willow on Buffy - and I think it's great that there's room to play.
