If you think these are bad, stay faaaaar away from her other books then. Jack and Jill are pretty bad, and the Rose series (Eight Cousins and Rose in Bloom) are laughable. Even Old-Fashioned Girl, which is pretty bad, is good compared to those.

Really, OFG is better than the others? I liked Little Men (a lot) and then I read OFG and haaaaated it. Turned me off LMA completely. "Flirting is slutty! Don't do it!" Jeez Louise, what the hell's wrong with flirting?

I read the sequels and hated them too. LMA is not my cup of tea.

Have to disagree. Eight Cousins is slightly preachy, but far less so than Little Women. Rose has a lot more independence, and she isn't stuck married to some patronizing dude like Margaret and Jo were, but to a man who actually respects her abilities and intelligence.
