And here I thought I was the only one who felt that way.

Nayrt

I also thought I was alone in feeling this way :(

Different anon. People actually didn't like the monster of the week episodes :( . I hated the demon story-line (besides Azazel, that has been the base initially), then they aded angels, heaven and all that. Watched season 6 but ... lost that feel. Still different things appeal to different people.

People didn't like the monster of the week episodes? I thought a lot of people dropped the show after it became more angel and demon oriented. (But I guess the ratings must still be pretty great or the show wouldn't already be renewed for several more seasons.)

Those were my favorites, actually. The first two seasons were fantastic and I miss them. (Not that I hate SPN now though; I dropped it, don't know what's going on.)

Different anon again. Some people did drop the show after the angel and demon thing, but others picked it up for the same reason. Personally I thought the show was okay before Castiel, but it didn't really grab me until he came along.

Yea, that's true. SPN still has a huge audience (probably bigger than ever?), it's just not necessarily the same audience. Castiel is a huge part of the shows popularity.

It's not a huge audience, it's just huge for that network. Which mostly sucks ratings wise.

So Supernatural is the only thing keeping the CW alive?

Yes.

Yea, I thought their ratings were pretty bad on a whole, but like you said, SPN's ratings are huge for the CW! It's no wonder they want to keep that show on the air.

da
You're not. I prefered the monster of the week approach with the brothers driving all over the country, helping people. The focus on monsters and beings from folklore and urban legends was my bread and butter. Didnt give a shit about the overreaching plot arcs for the monster part. Or the angel nonsense.
