But I guess it depends on the fandom. I've found really great fics under Harry Potter, Naruto, and Inuyasha. even Pirates of the Caribbean and a few others over the years. But it really Is the fandoms.

(Anonymous) 2014-10-06 05:14 am (UTC)(link)My thoughts exactly. All my fandoms are anime fandoms, which is known for tons of terrible fic, and even I've found some great fic for them.

(Anonymous) 2014-10-06 08:24 am (UTC)(link)And I'm doing this in HP, DBZ, HnG, PotC, Avengers, Hunger Games, Buffy, Naruto, Young Justice, Justice League, Thor, and Star Wars. All large fandoms...
It's all about knowing how to use filters, C2s, and the favorite hopping. Several fics and Ao3 is actually a lot more hit and miss for me since I prefer Gen to pairings. So many fics in Ao3 are marked as Gen but really aren't.

(Anonymous) 2014-10-06 11:08 am (UTC)(link)Noted that my taste has largely changed from 10 years ago, but when I went back recently to look at my FFN faves (Inuyasha)... there wasn't one that was good on the levels of AO3. I think generally, fic standards have just gotten a lot better overall and AO3 reflects that.
