You like what you like. Oh well.

i'm the opposite. it's one of my favorite tropes, too, so i went in expecting to be all over whouffle (idg this portmanteau, but i digress) like white on rice.

it's hard to ship when the canon is playing the father/daughter angle so hard, though.

I don't ship it, but honestly at this point I'd prefer it to Clara/Pink

All Doctor/Companion romances (canon or non - canon) are May/December romances because the Doctor is thousands of years old (as of S8 he claims 2,000), and the majority of his comapnions begin travelling with him in their teens/early twenties (the oldest TV companion being Donna). Romana is probably the closest in age to him and even then, he was still hundreds of years older than her when they met.

This is partially why I don't ship any Doctor/Companion. Even with the ones that looked young there is typically too much of a power imbalance and that's not the type of ship I care for (it's fine if other people do, it just bothers me.)

I don't even watch this show or like Dr. Who, but every time I see them together, in-character or out, I get the most lovely gender-swapped Harold and Maude vibes.

Jenna's older than Harold too! But I love the stiff young person x frivolous older person thing.

(that avatar is so quiche ♥)

I was fully prepared to ship it after I heard about the casting because of my love of the May-December thing, and I still do! They look so good together, and I've been enjoying their dynamic, too. I know every Doctor/Companion relationship has an age gap, but there's something about the visual expression of it that pleases me--I liked Eleven/River for the same reason.

I SHIP THIS LIKE BURNING (and as of the last episode I am not doing well)

(Anonymous) 2014-10-08 09:36 am (UTC)(link)
I don't want to touch Doctor&Clara, because that's one giant ball of issues of all kind, but Peter/Jenna is the cutest het pairing I've encountered and I'm a hardcore slasher/rpf hater. *facepalm*

I have the same thing. I wasn't planning on shipping them at all. But after the first ep I just couldn't unsee it. I ship it so hard now it's nog even funny.
