8.) I agree with this, actually. I saw the anime first and loved it to bits and people kept telling me, "READ THE MANGA. IT'S SO MUCH BETTER HOMFG." So I read the manga. YAWN. It has horrible pacing, the characters aren't nearly as interesting, the plot is boring, my favorite character got pushed off to the side, the overly cliche and dull and predictable pairings became canon, and the art isn't even that pretty. Yes the anime had plotholes but so does the fucking manga.
I partially blame manga fans for my dislike of it, though. If I had read it cold, without people telling me before hand about how great it was, I probably would have been able to tolerate it, but because so many people shoved it down my throat and it just wasn't as good as they made it out to be, I really felt doubly as disappointed as I would have been otherwise.
So. Yeah.
Give me the anime any day.

Lol, exactly what I felt...though I didn't even get through two volumes of it. My best friend read more of it then I did, and she told me it was as shitty I as thought it was.

I think the manga is great, but what I usually tell people is that it's very different from the anime. The surprise when finding out what Envy was (in the manga) for example, was amazing - I'm not often surprised nowadays.

I second this. Although I prefer the anime, I don't hate the manga. I think it's a fun read, even if it does seem to fall short in places.
