Ahahah, yeah. Personally, I love Bleach because of the amazing characterizations and plot, but yeah, the secret-poster is right -- I think sometimes the fandom just has to sit down and remember that this is a shounen, sometimes we are going to get long, 'pointless' fights and power-ups. Although Kubo Tite (the mangaka) is usually very good at tying in emotions and so-on to those fights.
