God, me too. This show is already painful to watch, I only keep watching it because my husband likes it. Sheldon is my favorite, though, and at first I liked Amy, too. Now she's really annoying and her constant pressure of Sheldon to have sex with her has gotten old. It's not funny, it's gross.

They're way too ugly. They wouldn't be able to have sex.

That's actually something I find rather sad about the pairing. She obviously wants to be in a sexual relationship and he is very much asexual. But they're so perfect together otherwise. Yeah... it's sad, and when they try to play it for laughs it's kinda creepy.

Yeah, but that's enough of a reason for them to not be in a relationship imo and if I were one of them I think I'd feel really strained all the time :( it's such a major factor in relationships and it kinds delegates the rest of "perfect together otherwise" into a far corner...

On one hand, I don't want the writers to throw Sheldon's asexuality out of the window.

On the other, it's incredibly unfair to Amy.

But I don't see the show seriously handling it any time soon.

The thing is, Amy was well aware of Sheldon's feelings about sex (and personal contact in general) well before they started dating. Since Amy was a late bloomer herself and they are so intellectually compatible, I can understand why she thought that they could make it work anyway. The fact that it's not working isn't anybody's fault, but the relationship as it stands is not fair to either one of them. Amy deserves to be in a relationship that is both intellectually and physically fulfilling for her, and Sheldon deserves a partner who doesn't need him to change a key aspect of his identity to make her happy. Amy's the one who is unhappy with the status quo, so it really should be her responsibility to either sit down with Sheldon and come up with a compromise they can both accept or end the relationship.

Same. I'd hate it so much. I can't see why the writer's wouldn't stay true to Sheldon's character, but then last season happened (kissing) and I hope it doesn't progress further than that.

But I like Amy too so I'd want her to just find someone else as well. Her and Sheldon work great as friends, so. :/

I think he will compromise on romance and act romantically some times and she will compromise on sex because Sheldon is asexual. He ma-aaay decide that he wants to reproduce one day, but I'm not sure if Amy'd want to have kids.

I'm pretty sure that Sheldon's planning on cloning himself. Bernadette's got no scientific ethics whatsoever -- she can probably hook him up.
