If you're looking for random X-Files meta, may I recommend The X-Files Files, Kumail Nanjiani's episode-by-episode podcast about the X-Files? Or Monster of The Week, Shaenon Garrity's X-Files fan comic?

Also, one of my friends watched his first episode of X-Files last night (it was 2shy) and he texted me like "Oh yeah that was pretty good I guess". It was very exciting.

But...2shy was sort of shit? That's not the best episode to get introduced to the show. Ah well, I think my first episode was "Never Again" which was also sort of shit IIRC, and it didn't ruin the show for me, so congrats :) And thanks for the meta recs, although I probably won't have time to go through them atm...

I like 2shy well enough, personally. The monster is creepy and the episode around him isn't flagrantly dumb or shitty. I feel like it's a very average episode. Like, one of the most straight-up, basic MOTW type episodes. Which is a good thing, in a way, because if he likes that, there's a lot more to come.

Oh, believe me, I know there are plenty of better episodes. But he's the kind of person who you can't really push into things. You sort of have to let him find his own pace. Just the fact that he enjoyed the episode is enough of a good sign.
