How would you characterize your religious beliefs?

Lapsed Catholic? I guess some people might call me an "Agnostic Catholic," though I'm not sure whether that makes sense. I was raised Catholic, went to sunday school, got confirmed, then ended up at a Catholic college.

I find Catholic-style Christianity is a good fit for me. I like the theological style. Keep in mind that I'm a left-wing American Catholic, which means we're comfortable saying women should be allowed to be priests, this whole anti-choice thing is mostly bullshit and overall muttering at the pope when we disagree with him. Basically more into liberation theology than anything else.

I put in the agnostic bit because, well... certain things just aren't that important to me. I believe in a higher power, but if someone were to come up with definitive proof that Jesus was not in fact the son of God or even that God didn't exist I'd still value the New Testament. I never really cared whether or not the Eucharist is literally the body of Christ or not. Stuff like that.

Hahahaha I completely understand, since I come from the exact same tradition (although I've lapsed rather further than you, since I don't believe in a higher power at all). Like, Catholic grade school, confirmation, liberal Jesuit high school, the whole business. So I think that's pretty cool!
