It's a tie between two of my relatives, whose deeds are interrelated.

I have a younger cousin (whom I'll call Jim) who knocked up another of my younger cousins (whom I'll call Mary) while they were both high on meth. I found out a year ago that he was a) burglarizing houses to pay for both his meth and heroin habits and b) had stolen from his own work and gone on the run, leaving Mary and the kid in the lurch.

I thought that was pretty bad, and I still do, but it was very nearly topped by me finding out that the person who turned Jim and Mary onto meth and heroin was Mary's own father (who is, of course, an older cousin of mine).

Wow, that's...a good one, though not for them obviously.

Ha, yeah. It's...a pretty messed up situation, and despite my family's tendency to gossip, they worked to keep a lot of it quiet for a good many years. I'd wondered why my older cousin's wife had left him, because no one would say, and it turned out that it was because he was using and involving their daughter in it.
