Were we reading the same article? I'd never heard of it either until the other day. It totally describes me at school (pre-fandom, pre-internet days!) and yes I was escaping constant bullying. I used to phase out of whole lessons by accident and try to go to bed early so I could really focus on the daydreams. I'm much better nowadays but if I'm not careful when I'm on my own I can lose whole mornings.
