I've looked for neocash cards at some of my local shops and never found them. For some reason I feel like spending a few bucks cash ($5-10) on it is somehow preferable to the same amount through my credit card. IDGI.

I have never spent money on pet sites but I have spent my fair share of real life money for vanity items in WoW.

You don't deserve ridicule. You're spending your entertainment money on something you genuinely enjoy - that's better than spending it on something you don't give a crap about, but think would be more socially acceptable.

I don't think it's so bad. You're spending your own money on something you enjoy and as long as you think you're getting your money's worth, it's fine.. I've spent money on extra character slots and the like on MMOs.

I buy way more online cash than I should. I don't break my budget (ie, I don't go into debt, I give up other forms of entertainment, etc), but there's something so satisfying about having those pretty pixels.

I've forcibly cut down way more recently because I want to have more money for other fandomy things.

There's nothing wrong with that.

It's not much different to buying DLC on console games and the like. It just expands your gaming experience. If you enjoy the game and you have a bit of fun money, spend it on what you like!

If you enjoy it, fuck anyone who gives you grief. I bought about 50$ of neocash over ...however long its been out - and most of my pets can't wear the clothing.

Yeah, this. I think I hit $200 in neocash before I stopped, but I enjoyed it at the time so I try not to regret it. I've basically left Neopets now, but at the time I enjoyed my purchases and I could spare the money.

Whatever, it's your money, you can do what you want with it. I've spent more money than I care to admit on a paid account to AQW (and coins, that yes, bought vanity items).

Yeah, I know that feeling. I actually have been ridiculed by people back when I once accidentally admitted to buying cash items on Gaia (before it went completely down the drain). It's so stupid, though, because the same people kept spending money on things that I would never have spent money on, but for some reason, it's different when they do it.

I have spent absolute loads on Neopets. I've spent loads on other games, too. And you know what, I don't care. It's my money,I pay my bills, and I can use it to relax however I want. I'm not going out and getting blackout drunk or doing so much cocaine that I am losing the cartilage in my nose. We're both doing the things that help us de-stress after dealing with a very, very trying world. It's a fun escape.

Also, if anyone has any further comment or ragging, I always point out the fact that I neither have children, nor am I planning to have children. I further put out to the particularly bitter sorts that they should not take out their frustrations about having to care for five children on me, because they made their choice and I made mine. (I say this, because this one person in particular always has really condescending things to say to me.)

When it comes to my co-workers, I always remind then that I don't have the same type of lifestyles they keep to support. I will not have people who make good money, but stay 'broke' due to drugs (a lot of pot, but a lot of hardcore stuff, too) and drinking judge me for wanting to playing games and buy books and take naps. That stuff is to awesome to me dismissed.

Embrace the cool things YOU like to do and the people who have anything negative to say can back off. :)
