I really hope Korrasami does not the new Zutara.

Nah. The shippers have a much more realistic outlook this time around.

I'm actually a little bit leery of Korrasami shippers trying to use Zutara as validation.

Zutarans are working with a guy who was once an angry racist sixteen year old who'd been taught his nation was superior, who nearly destroyed Katara's village and actually DID destroy Kyoshi's village, in the search for the Avatar, let his daddy issues rule his head until well into Book three, and while Team Avatar did forgive him in the end there was just way too much bad history for any sort of actual romance to develop.

By contrast Korrasamians are taking a woman who has already been somewhat kindly disposed to the Avatar, who has shown zero signs of wanting to wreck the Avatar's shit up, and pairing her with Korra, a woman who shares some of Asami's interests and who seems intellectually and emotionally compatible with her.

See, we aren't talking about the ships. We are talking about the FANS.

Korrasami shippers don't make things like this.



The far end of the Zutara shippers thought the Kyoshi Island episode was a nod to their ship being the right ship and was FORESHADOWING. They made long angry posts about how they were "betrayed" by the finale.

They took book 4 as an insult (to be fair, it kinda was aimed directly at them)

Korrasami just isn't this crazy with their expectations. Weather because the shippers grew up a bit in these past few years, or just because lesbian relationships are a lot less likely to be canon in a cartoon, saner heads are prevailing.

Seriously, this shit is so common place on tumblr, and I've seen some bathshit insane Korrasami fans who honestly think it's going to be canon. "Omg, Korra wrote to the only girl her age about her health problems?!! OMG ITS CANON I'M HAVING THE VAPORS~!"
