The Hounds of the Morrigan! I didn't discover it until I was an adult, but I still keep a copy on my shelf.

I still have mine, too. It's a bit battered these days, but it fared better than our copies of the Shannara series at least. And our copy of "Return of the King". We, ah. We tend to reread books until they fall apart around here. Though we're more careful with the ones that are out of print or generally difficult to reacquire :)
