Seriously. I can google it and get 100 links (some of which may or may not actually be what I was looking for), or you can be helpful and answer my one question.

Except that sometimes people are asking really dead simple questions that won't require you to browse through 100 links, like, "Who is [name of an actor]?" That would require you Googling, clicking ONE link and reading it. If you aren't up to doing that to answer your own question, why should everyone do the work for you?

Yeah, in some cases, googling doesn't really help but there are a lot of times where a quick search would yiled top results. Personally, I don't get those questions because why would you wait hours for someone to come and answer your question when you could get the answer in a matter of seconds or minutes by googling it yourself?

I don't understand it either, but it's 100& guaranteed that if you dare to suggest the person asking the really simple, very Google-able question that they could look it up themselves, people jump down your throat for it. Or they bring up "what if" scenarios concerning questions that are more efficiently answered by crowdsourcing, when nobody has actually complained about these types of questions, only the questions that could be answered with one Google search.

People enable the stupid and the lazy, and then they're annoyed when people are stupid and lazy. *shrug*
