4 different horses played Hidalgo and V. Mortensen bought one of the horses after the filming. Also it was windy on the dessert set, so they had problems keeping to the timetable. Sand everywhere.

Yup, I read that he bought one of the horses for himself and his son, which I thought was really sweet.

Sand and wind are always a bad combo.
