Don't be silly, nobody's said that. What people are saying is that there's no particular reason to have ONLY white people.

Because the book had only white people. *jazz hands* It was written in the 1940s-ish, by some white guy who was kind of sexist/racist by our standards. All his characters were white. The movies cast all white actors. So...I don't know what anyone expected, really. Nobody should be looking to old-fashioned high fantasy for diversity and representation anyway.
