If you never watched Sliders, perhaps you might be led to believe that this secret maker has some fringe opinion. They do not. Most people who watched the show at the time gave up before it ended, and those who hung on to the bitter end found less and less to enjoy as time passed.

The last two seasons of Sliders were terrible on an epic level. I usually automatically dismiss anyone who uses the phrase "real fans" and I can't back away fast enough when folks are piling hate on late-introduced characters and/or female characters, but Sliders did everything wrong for two seasons and then ended with the worst series finale of any show up until How I Met Your Mother took away the title this spring. There are series finales that go weird places (the ass-pull "romances" in Warehouse 13 and Star Trek Voyager come to mind) and then there's the series finale of Sliders.

The epilogue in Harry Potter is the height of literary genius compared to the end of Sliders. Unrealistic happiness and stupid baby names are 1000x better than the opposite approach. And Sliders took that opposite approach, and then dragged it screaming to the pits of Hell. It took the HIMYM finale to beat it. We can only pray nothing worse is ever again written and filmed.

I never watched the finale, ragequit way before then. But....now I'm sort of tempted to, just to see how bad it was? Yikes.
