Hahahah

"It's the OP's responsibility to write this so I can't read anything into it"

The entitlement here is through the roof. Get your big kid pants on and get over it.

No, good writing is making the things you say unambiguous (or not, if that's the effect you're going for) to ensure your reader takes from it what you want them to take. How is that entitlement?

If OP lacks confidence in their writing, then that would be an area they might want to address.

Again.

There was nothing absolutely nothing in the post that suggested the the OP meant to brag. Nothing even about their skill level mentioned in the secret.

And honestly while you should try to make your writing the best you can, you can't account for every person who's going to misinterpret it.

Quit trying to blame the OP because a bunch of total whiners behind an anonymous mask decided to see the secret as an attack on their already fragile egos.

From a writing standpoint I can tell you that anybody can take any interpretation out of a work no matter the skill level of the writer, as there are plenty of people who have completely misunderstood classic novels. Thinking you need to worry about every possible interpretation that could be drawn is not a habit of a good writer, it's the habit of someone who's probably going to spend too much time obsessing over that to actually write.

Again.

It sounds like your ego is the thing that's most fragile in this discussion.

Not OP

(Anonymous) 2014-10-17 09:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Mmmm....I'm not the one who's accusing someone of boasting because they said they've been drawing a long time. You sound more and more sad with every comment.

Where exactly did I say that?

I said that OP should be more careful with how they word things if they don't want people to mistake their intent, and I stand by that. Not being the OP, I have no idea what they meant, except that it's clear from this thread that they feel they've been misunderstood. As their secret implies their lack of confidence with their writing, clarity of expression would be somewhere to begin.

I'm quite happy, thank you. You're the one who seems intent on bringing your personal baggage into this.

"No U!"

Wow those argument skills sure are something.

DA. You did the exact same thing first, buddy.
