(Anonymous) 2007-12-19 12:36 am (UTC)(link)NONETHELESS. What I'm trying to say here is if it's your hobby, fine. For some of us, yeah, it is more serious. So we wanna be writers? Big fucking deal. It doesn't affect you. I'm not saying fanfic is srs bsns, but dreams and ambitions are, so don't look down your goddamn nose at me for trying to improve and write to the best of my ability - even in a medium you don't consider "serious."

(Anonymous) 2007-12-19 01:50 am (UTC)(link)not the op...but yeah, actually it does affect me. if I'm writing because I enjoy it and if I'm writing and taking it seriously but not oh so fucking serious that I'm ready to cut a vein and if I'm writing and not wanting to be professional and therefore have no interest in hearing all the concrit about how I can omg improve...
...to be beaten down by the 'wannabe professional writers' because I'm OBVIOUSLY not taking it as SERIOUSLY as they are...
does affect me. it lessens my enjoyment of my HOBBY and my fandom experience to be looked at like I'm a lesser being because I don't want to be a professional writer.
