My parents threaten to send me on "What not to Wear" because of lolita/jfashion in general.

I told them if they did I would laugh in Stacy and Clinton's faces because my wardrobe is worth more than $5000 and much harder to replace. :D

Personally I'd rather see someone in lolita than bland American mall fashion. So much of "normal" fashion is based on looking like a sex object- what's wrong with wanting to look like a princess instead?

This just kinds of prove my point, though. Just because something is expensive (and $5000 spent on EGL alone, I feel, is excessive) doesn't necessarily mean it looks good. I'm from the Less Is More school, anyway, which loli definitely doesn not conform with.

You do realize that part of the whole "young, lavish, and innocent!" kitsch that makes loli so popular is all about sex appeal, right? Unwrapping the forbidden fruit? They really should put that in the EGL bible.
