So just wondering out of curiosity, what reality tv shows are you all following, and why.

Does The Incredible Dr. Pol count? I love that show so much.

Competition type:
-Face Off
-Big Brother (US/UK/AU)
-The Amazing Race
-ANTM

Docuseries type:
-Pawn Stars/American Pickers
-sometimes Oddities, but I never know when it's on and the SF version isn't as good as the NY one.

I occasionally watch Pawn Stars, it is a good time waster. Oddities is fantastic!

The apprentice UK

The cock-ups are better then most other terrible reality shows because they bigger egos and more stakes and rewards then most reality shows.

And the after show is awesome.

I don't follow anymore, but as a study of sorts I watched Undercover Boss. What enthralled me were all the massive issues it revealed, even as it was at least 50% scripted, and even though the CEO in question missed the point. (Like one giving money to a couple who worked at one of his restaurants. Uh... they both work there full time and can't afford to rent an apartment. There could have been other factors involved, but something tells me he could've used the money to raise wages for everyone.)

Whenever Cake Boss comes back, that.

Amazing race is the only one that I follow regularly. It's just fun to watch (read the instructions completely, dammit!) and I like seeing the different places they visit.

Sometimes I watch different house improvement and cooking shows, but only some episodes.

Big Brother! (USA/Canada)

Amazing Race

Survivor

The Voice

Masterchef (Masterchef Jr.)

Chopped (occasionally)

Top Chef/Top Chef Masters

Next Great Baker

Why? Because I enjoy watching them.

Project Runway.

I am consistently impressed by the skill of the designers on the show, and I like how most of the time the editing shows more of the creative process than just drama. In addition, the show made me actually appreciate the fashion industry a lot more than I did, and now I understand better stuff like avant garde in fashion and things like that.

The Amazing Race

Survivor

Hell's Kitchen

Masterchef/Masterchef Junior

But then I also watch some of the ones on MTV, like The Real World. I really enjoy watching The Challenge shows that they have, and the second season of Are You The One? started pretty recently. Teen Mom 2 is also a guilty pleasure of mine.

Say Yes to the Dress and Something Old and something new.

I watch it with my mom. It's fun to look at all the pretty dresses, think about the dress i'd like to wear etc. I think it's extra fun esp. bc I've never had a boyfriend---planning out a wedding with no groom is sadly funny.

I'm too busy now, but I used to watch MTV dating shows. Like when a guy unexpectedly arrives to contestants' homes and looks everywhere and judges. Then the three contestans look at his shit. At the end there was usually a date. They had gay and straight show variations.

upd. And Project Runway.

I had a randomly-assigned roommate in the dorms my first year of college, and she and I would watch those sometimes. Or just have them on the background while working on stuff. I didn't have cable before I went to college, so this was all new to me. Also stuff like Flavor of Love and the Tila Tequila one. They were so ridiculous, it's astonishing. 2008 was a weird year.
