Maybe Jackie never wanted to be emotionally close to you in the first place and just wished to have in you a like-minded person to whom she could talk about your shared interests.

I think you're on the right track, though it's a bit more complicated than that because at first we were emotionally close, and she confided in me too and said I was like her sister and stuff. BUT I think somewhere along the line that may have changed a bit, too. She wanted a fandom friend a bit more than a confidante or to be a confidante.

I've definitely stopped relying on her, though.
