Why should they feel bad about it? All they've done is be happy, in their own head, that they did better than someone else. They haven't told the person this; they haven't told their fandom this. In fact, they're keeping it a secret.

Having negative feelings or negative thoughts, and doing absolutely nothing about them, isn't the terrible thing that you and some other people here are making it out to be.
