Given I've never followed MLP, but the fandom doesn't seem any worse than any of the other juggernauts. I won't deny that it was probably better beforehand, but good luck having a bunch teens invading any fandom and it turning out better for it.

I really think fandom as needs some sort of punching bag, that's preferably furry in nature, to think they're somehow better than.

I agree. Even when I vehemently hate something, I stay away from hatedoms because there's some people who don't have perspective on what's too much.

I'm confused about who made that post tho-- surely if they picked green and wrote that, they ARE a brony, and they expected people to hate bronies more than racism? But then it turns out that they were talking to a bunch of racists?

I'm feeling some genuine confusion here. If people chose the green button and spared the lives of bronies, isn't that an example of fandom people being shitty rather than anti-fandom having a high frequency of terrible people? Wouldn't anti-fandom people have all clicked the red button? (not that doing so would have actually proven that they're terrible people, since it's a really stupid choice anyway. I would probably click the red button just because I know that there are far more black people in the world than bronies, so less people would die, although I don't know what would happen to black bronies...)

Try "The Worst Of Tumblr/Facebook" on Facebook. There's a (female) mod on there called "Anti-Feminazi" who delights in being as anti-female and anti-feminist as she possibly can. If you call her out she tells you you're being "butthurt" and "need to learn to take a joke". (There are usually rape jokes soon afterwards.
