Lately search engines have been automatically adding words, or changing words for things I've been trying to look up. It doesn't mater what search engine I use. I have no idea why this is happening, but it is starting to piss me off. Has this been happening to anyone else? does anyone know how to make it stop?

I think if you use firefox you can have plugins that disable it. Maybe you can even disable it in your browser settings.

Do you mean, like, autocorrect?

Also, have you done a malware-type scan thing

It's part of Skynet's plan to destroy the human race, first it was "did you mean", now it is "I'm going to go ahead and assume you meant", and tomorrow it will be "I think you mean LAUNCH ALL MISSILES, MEATSACKS!"

You know what is funnier, the UK's Department of Defense actually calls its military satellite arm "skynet", it is like they are taunting the apocalypse.

I'm surprised no-one's suing them yet.

I was going to say "Skynet".

Are you looking up weird stuff that the search engines are "correcting" the spelling of for you? Because putting stuff inside quotation marks can force them to keep what you're searching for. Or maybe you're accidentally selecting and searching for whatever's coming up in the suggested search terms?
