I didn't really care one way or the other about her. I didn't mind her but like Jean-Paul Valley, I could do with or without her in a book. When she became Robin (for all of two issues) she entertained me. The idea of a girl Robin just really entertains me anyways and it made me like Stephanie a little more. I still liked Tim more as Robin (in truth, I like Dick Grayson MOST as Robin) but I didn't mind Stephanie. I'm mad they killed her. I think it was a stupid thing to do and a waste of a character. (I'm also mad they killed Jean-Paul and Orpheous.)
What's the killer for ME is that... it doesn't seem like the writers or editors wanted anyone to care about Stephanie. They didn't want us or the characters in the comics to care at all about her death. Besides a few, brief moments, there's hardly a mention or breath about her. I mean, damn, Tim mentions Conner more than Stephanie. But now when it seems to hint that they're bringing her back... we're suddenly supposed to care? When for the past year or two nobody else in the comics has cared?
It's just bad writing.
Like what they did to Catwoman's kid.
Freaking DC.

Personally I like(ed) Steph more than Tim, but then Tim has always been my least favourite Robin...which considering how much I love them all really doesn't mean much. He's inoffensive, but I find him a little bland...when he's not being the daunting uber Robin, which is annoying for other reasons. Though I blame my lack of enthusiasm for the character on the fact the writers have forgotten or ignored that it was 'Tim the dork' most fans responded to, not 'Tim the depressed alpha male'.
So I suppose our posts could both be summed up with 'Boo, bad writing!'

When I usually see Tim, it's with Nightwing or Bats or well... I don't read much of him by himself. Which, again, is possibly why I was never that big on Stephanie. She didn't appear often in Nightwing or Batman (and those were the only bat books I picked up while she was among the living). So I usually saw Tim as the dorky little brother - which I rather like! But I can see where you're coming from. Maybe Dixon will bring back some of that Tim the dork that most people seem to like.

Stephanie was boring, but it does bother me that Batman and Tim never mention or think about her. I mean, she died because of them, so where's the love?
