8. OH THANK GOD IT'S NOT JUST ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! After all the Secrets on here about Sylar/Anyone else, I was worried I was the only one who hated him/didn't see the appeal. I mean, whhhhhhyyyyyyyyyyyyy?? He was just a watch repair man with maternal issues.

I dunno, I kinda like him cuz he was a VERY good psychopathic evil guy that everyone loves to hate. |D

I prefer Adam as my bad guy to be honest....I mean, he's been around for 400 years, and been fucked up that way, as aposed to just not feeling specially enough for his mother. And I loved how he was set up as a hero, then an anti-hero, then a villain(we first found out he was Kensei, then he was not a hero, and just in it for money etc and then the whole virus thing) so we could see the character develop into the villain, even if we aren't 100% sure exactly when and where and how and why (but we can tell Hiro probably was a big reason). Whereas with Sylar it's just him wanting to be special enough and failing until Dr Suresh came along, then he just went kinda crazy.

Oooh, yeah. Adam is more human to me and less of a psychopath! I mean, having the love of your life taken away by the guy you thought you could trust and then letting that hate fester for 400 years? Does not do much for one's happiness! So, he does make a more awesome villain, but I find Sylar to be pretty awesome cuz he's just plain batshit insane. Does that make any sense? XD

Yeah it does, and I wasn't trying to say "OMG YOU CAN'T LIKE HIM, HE'S JUST INSANE", just saying why I prefered Adam.
I seem to have a thing about stuff like this, seeing how and why people turn evil, rather than them just being plain batshit insane (as you put it) seemingly for the sake of it. I remember arguing with a housemate, since I prefered Episodes 1, 2 and 3 of Star Wars, since I prefered finding out how/why Vadar became evil over the 3 movies, as aposed to watching nearly 3 movies and seeing him getting suddenly redemed, and my housemate couldn't understand it (all he could think was that 4, 5, and 6 were better, because they "were").

That's true! More backstory with good reasons on turning to the dark side is always very nice. :]

I liked him for a short while, before he started narrowly escaping death every three episodes! It got old. Faaast.

Part of his appeal, I think, is that he's just a watch repairman with a creepy mommy complex! Kind of like how Peter Petrelli is just a male nurse with a brother complex!

I have no idea. I just know that I don't like him. XD

Honestly? If he never interacted with Mohinder, then I would hate Sylar. But it's the fact that he seems to have some pathological attachment to him (and I'm not even saying that in the omg gay way) makes him a lot more interesting. Plain sociopaths? Boring. Sociopaths with a soft spot for someone? Interesting. In my opinion, anyway.
