Frankly I think the fact that H50 is shit at relationships that aren't platonic has something to do with this. The romances in this show are some of the most pointless I've ever seen on teleivion. I can't even remember what Danny's current girlfriend looks like, or what's going on with Chin's love life. I don't even see the point in including these relationships if they're going to treat them this way.

(The woman from last episode is going to be Steve's new LI...I know it. I'm done with it already. Just stop with the romance, show.)

Yeah, I don't get why they insist on putting romance into the show when they obviously suck at it. I remember reading a comment quite awhile ago, I think it was on an article about Catherine leaving, and someone was like "but the hero NEEDS a girlfriend!" and several people agreed. So I guess some people think every show has to have romance but if it's going to be as badly done as it always has been in this show, I'd rather they leave it out.

I thought so too but one of the writers has mentioned multiple times that he's technically still with Catherine and the new woman is just a friend...apparently they want to bring Catherine back. Which seems like a bad idea to me, but what do I know?

Just stop with the romance, show.

Yep! (I almost said "unless they got Steve and Danny together" but if they did they'd just fuck that up too so...yeah, they need to just stay away from romance.)

Waiiiiiiiiiit, they actually still want to bring Catherine back? OMG H50 writers, what is wrong with you?! I thought they made it pretty clear that Cate was gone, and that Steve was getting used to that. Plus, it never even felt like Steve was too into the relationship in the first place...just let it go.

Steve and Danny already act in love so that's enough for me. I don't need the show to make it canon, because you're right, if they did they would screw it up.

Apparently so! I went to find that article, but the closest thing I could find was this (from before this season started):

and the mention of "closure" makes me think/hope if she does come back it'll just be to wrap things up before she leaves for good. The wording in the original interview I read made me think they wanted her back as a regular character, but now I can't find it, so I don't know if maybe they changed their minds and it was taken down or what. But yeah, I would think it would make more sense at this point to just let it go since he doesn't seem heartbroken over her or anything (and like you mentioned, he didn't seem that into the relationship to begin with) so I don't know that "closure" really even seems necessary.

Me too. Just let them flirt with each other and chase bad guys and leave the canon romance to other shows lol

Hmm, closure does sound like, "And then they break up for good!" I would be completely fine with that, but tbh I agree with you...I don't think it's necessary. It seems like he's barely thought of Catherine since she's been gone, and he's got a lot on his plate. I don't think he has time to pine, even if he would...and he wouldn't, imo.
