You can't help how you feel in an immediate sense, but you can work on breaking out of it and having a healthier outlook.

Unless they're okay with not dating. Not everyone is upset by being single, regardless of celebrity obsessions or lack thereof. Not dating =/= unhealthy.

well, sure, there's absolutely nothing wrong with being single and happy about it but OP says that the reasons they aren't dating is because they've been obsessed with him for the past twenty years. That's not healthy no matter which way you spin it.

That isn't the vibe I got from the secret. And I'd still posit that an obsessive, life-consuming crush on a real person who will never know who you are is pretty unhealthy even if you are 100% happy being single.
