Who's signed up? What did you get assigned? Did you expect that one? How okay are you with your assignment?

I really wish there was something like Yuletide but a promptathon. I love the idea of writing fics for small fandoms, but I'm not a good enough writer to sign up for exchanges. I love promptathons, though, where things are more low key.

You could write treats. There are a lot of prompts in people's letters. I know I gave like five prompts for each request I made. People would love to get a treat and there's no pressure because no one's expecting a treat.

My assignment was on a fandom I intentionally chose a weird character combination for so I didn't match on it. Fortunately, I got someone whose requests I can work with (and they wanted Any, so I'm probably not even going to write something about the characters I offered), so I'm going to be able to write them something. Right now I'm seriously considering something along the lines of Characters on Ice.

I never got into Yuletide so I don't know exactly how it works but if you didn't want to match on that fandom why did you include it in the first place? Just curious.

I was struggling to come up with something for the mandatory fourth offer slot, and I saw that fandom in the signup summary and figured it would do as filler. I've played the game, I'm okay with writing it, but I was really expecting to match on something else.

I got exactly what I wanted. I made five offers but two I knew I wouldn't match on anyone. I've been scanning the letters and saw that one of my remaining fandoms had very vague prompts and I had no ideas what to write so I was hoping not to get that one. I didn't have much enthusiasm for my last fandom either.

But I just recently rewatched my assigned fandom and got a ton of ideas. I've already outlined what I'm going to write. I'm super excited.

I'll be writing The Grand Budapest Hotel apparently - and no, didn't expect that. I'm not sure how matching is done, but it certainly is not the most obscure one I signed up for. I sort of expected to get something rarer.

Did you end up paired with the short film? Decisions? Following through with secret?

No I didn't, so, I guess it's a non-issue now.
