Halloween is already here and also not yet here

Considering where you are in the world...

Anyway, a Halloween related question;

Have you ever dabbled in seances, Ouija boards, haunted house investigations and what not? What did you do and what happened?

Nope. I'm a super rational person who doesn't believe that stuff works. I don't believe in ghosts, don't being in astrology or Ouija boards or seances or fortune telling. I love that stuff in fiction. I adore fantasy and magic and horror and all that. But I don't think it has any connection to reality. I have to see something to believe it, and there is no scientific evidence whatever of any of that stuff.

Same. It's fun to talk about, but I don't believe that it's real.

If I die and someone tries to summon me, I will come back and freak them the hell out. Because how dare someone interrupt my eternal rest?!

(I do believe in spiritual stuff, but don't like the idea of seances, as you can tell.)

I have a ouija board in my closet, I participated in seances at sleepovers when I was 8, and I totally want to buy a "haunted" house in the future. I don't really believe in any of it but I like creeping myself out.

I did do the Ouija thing with a friend, yeah. Glass moved, but fro what I understand you basically move it without knowing yourself.

Didn't get much info. Said I'd have 4 loves in my life - that's really the only thing I recall.

Mostly I'm just reminiscing that friend now. Haven't seen him for ages. I miss him.

I've been told I'm eerily accurate with Tarot cards, to the point where someone ran out of my house, he was so freaked out.

Ghosts also apparently like me, considering my previous house had about six or seven regulars, a few animal ghosts, and various pass-throughs on their way to somewhere else. I had an exorcist offer to clean the house for me, after she met one of the ghosts. It liked to appear as rather large, nasty animals to everyone except me (it would show up as one of my actual pets for me). The other ghosts included a very cranky older woman, who hung out in the downstairs master bedroom, two different stinky men (one smelled of cigarettes and was very hands-on; he particularly liked playing with long hair. A lawyer was visiting my house and saw my husband's hair literally stand on end, and thought he'd been shocked. Nooo, just the ghost. The other one stank like a man who'd been working outside all day without deoderant), the Lady in the Library (who appeared as a grey form, and would poke her head out of the library when strangers were in the house), and Mrs. Culbertson (who owned the house before I did, and came back when she died). The men liked to travel, and would climb into vehicles with us (we'd yell at them to get out, because they really stunk). I brought home a new puppy and she was charged by one of my former dogs. Another couple of former dogs would race around the house. The cats didn't like walking from the living room to the foyer, and would usually leap about four feet in the air when crossing through the opening. The dogs would walk through with their hackles up, particularly my boy dog when I adopted him. He also would stand outside what had been Mrs. Culbertson's bedroom and bark and bark, or stalk into the room, like he was hunting something.

...so, yeah...I've had some experiences in the past.

I'm eerily accurate with Tarot cards myself. More than once, after I've TOLD SOMEONE that I'm going to give them a Tarot reading as a demonstration of cold-reading techniques (the cards are a fucking AMAZING cold-reading aid) they've still been blown away by how magically accurate I am. Some fuckin' people, man.

I've been urban exploring and seen/heard some pretty creepy things. Once I was looking around an abandoned hospital with two friends, and we all heard footsteps walk across a room we were in.

Another time I was in an abandoned hotel, and for the entirety of the time I was there I got this nagging feeling that each corner I turned, there'd be someone standing there. I didn't find out until later that there were many other people who reported the same feeling. Anyway, my friend and I ended up in one of the top wings, and we heard something crash and drag itself into one of the rooms. We booked it pretty quickly, neither of us sure what it was, but we didn't want to check.

The house I used to live in was haunted as well, probably because it was built in the Victorian era. There was creaking on the floors, even when I was the only one up, and the sound of something crawling across the back yard at night. It gave me such an awful feeling for the entirety of the time I was there, just absolute dread. I've never been afraid of the dark or anything like that, but I'd find myself standing in front of closed doors, convinced there was something waiting for me, or I'd stare off at a single spot and be convinced there was someone there. A friend who was staying with me told me he had the same feelings, and that he'd hear and see things sometimes. All this was unique to the house, although where I'm living now some other less impressive, less creepy things have happened.

It's Halloween here in the UK! :D

I remember doing the Ouija board when I was a kid with my classmates.

I was always the one who secretly moved the thing over the letters. Half the fun was riling up my friends who actually thought there was a ghost lol

No way. I have enough creepy hallucinations without psyching myself out with ghost stories.

Yes and nothing happened.
