Anime/Manga Discussion

Talk about stuff you're watching or reading. Put the title in the subject line. Doesn't have to be current.

Hunter x Hunter

I catched up with the latest arc. Now I ship Ging and Pariston. God help me.

You're so not alone.

Ushinawareta Mirai wo Motomete

(Anonymous) 2014-10-31 12:33 am (UTC)(link)
I have no idea whether this show is actually good or not. I started watching it pretty much solely because the title is a reference to Proust, which seems interesting for anime, but there are a lot of things that seem surprisingly good about it. The time travel stuff is interesting so far and it has kind of that puzzlebox thing going on, and it has a nice pace and feel to it - it's slow and nostalgic while being smart about that nostalgia. On the other hand, there are a lot of things about it that are very harem / dating sim / romance-y, and not a particularly well executed one, and that's always annoying.

I doubt anyone else is watching this, but yeah.

That's because it was based on a visual novel.

Log Horizon

late as hell but i don't caaaaare

Akatsuki, honey, listen to me. I do not give a single shit about your self esteem issues. You are a tiny badass ninja and your only romantic competition is either dating Naotsugu, way more content to stalk from afar, or twelve years old for fuck's sake. Go join one of DDD or West Wind's raids, get yourself some nice equipment, and drag Shiroe's emotionally-incompetent ass into a closet, problem fucking solved.

Also you're taking valuable screen time from Rudy, and we can't have that, because Rudy is the Best Character. Also the rest of the low-level crew.

Hapi Mari manga

(Anonymous) 2014-10-31 08:01 pm (UTC)(link)
It's a manga about a married couple. It's fairly standard shoujo, but man is it entertaining. I love their reaction faces too. Some things are obvious plot devices to cause conflict but I've been liking it all around.
