Does this really take a lot of time? AO3 and FFnet both allow you to sign up for notifications when someone posts a new fic, and you can clearly see what fandom it's for and how many comments/kudos are in a glance. The whole shebang from receiving notification e-mail to clicking, looking at the new fic and laughing with bitter shadenfreude would take 10 seconds.

To be able to then compare and contrast to previous fics? Yeah, I don't have time for that crap, even if it's 30 seconds.

nayrt - On AO3 and FFnet, the author's profile will list fics, fandoms and comments/kudos all in a neatly organized page. Don't get me wrong, it's very noble you don't have 30 seconds you want to devote to this, but it's inaccurate to suggest this sort of weird fic writer stalking is going to take a huge chunk out of one's day.
